(28) Towards the Year of Faith: Xavier Padilla

[As we move toward the launch of the Year of Faith, we asked our Young Fulltimers to share their faith journey. Read their stories in their own words]

I have been a full time missionary for the past 15 years. Ever since I graduated from college, all the way up to today. I have helped in the ministries that serve youth, singles, kids. Even young couples and beginning families. I have gone to many places around the Philippines and around the world. Slept in many houses, on tables, in caves, on floors, and on any imaginable transportation.

All for one reason. To spread God’s love to as many people around the world as fast as I can. I heard that message on the feast of Our Lady of Fatima 15 years ago. And it is still as personal and real to me today as it was then.

I can liken myself to the wedding servers at Cana, whom Mama Mary instructed to “do whatever He tells you.” I am here, serving the Lord, doing whatever He tells me. Going wherever He leads me. And serving wherever He puts me.
