[As we move toward the launch of the Year of Faith, we asked our Young Fulltimers to share their faith journey. Read their stories in their own words]
“Faith is the way of holding onto what we hope for, being certain of what we cannot see.” Hebrews 11:1
For me it is difficult to be certain of something I cannot see, this is the reason why I plan my future very well, I planned to be a lawyer. I figured that if I do well in college and go to a good law school, I can be assured of a bright future. If I become a hot shot lawyer I can be assured of having a beautiful house, a beautiful car and a beautiful wife! But things didn’t turn out as I wanted it to be. In my last year in college I felt that God is calling me to be a missionary! I literally hear Him saying to let go of all my hopes and dreams and just trust in Him! I try to wrestle with God about it since I am expected to help out in the family being the eldest. But God won and I decided to be a missionary!
8 years after I made that decision I still don’t have my own house but I have a house to stay in every corner of the world. I still don’t have my own car but I have a car with a driver waiting for me wherever I go. I still don’t have a wife but I know that God is still preparing the best wife for me! You see I still received what I foresee to have in my future; the only difference is that it is not me who is working to have it but my Father in heaven. Yes it is difficult to hold on something that you cannot see but I dare to believe in a God who said “For I know well the plans I have for you, plans for your welfare and not for you woe, plans to give you a future full of hope! Yes I do believe and I made it my mission to make other people believe in it as well! Truly if you put your trust in God who is your Father there is nothing impossible for you to achieve!
