(5) Towards the Year of Faith: Van Lester “VL” Ramos

[As we move toward the launch of the Year of Faith, we asked our Young Fulltimers to share their faith journey. Read their stories in their own words]

I accidentally got involved with a religious youth organization in my school when I was still in college. It was “accidental” since I was not yet a member that time but that “accident” was actually planned by God. Though I was not yet a member, they treated me like one of them with great care. I met ordinary students like me from different campuses who were living an extraordinary life of great love from God and from one another. Their actions and lifestyle caught my curiosity and I asked myself what made them be so passionate in loving and serving the Lord. My curiosity led me to realize the love of the Lord has for me, thus made me decide to recognize that love and accept His invitation of personal relationship with Him. After a year, I joined their youth camp and the rest was history of growth and enjoyment in my relationship with the Lord.

Enjoying my relationship with the Lord is not enough and His goodness must be shared. He wants me to be closer to Him as much as I can. To continue to strive for perfection and holiness. To point as many people as I can toward our Lord Jesus Christ, wherever I am and whatever I am doing, so they may also realize His great love for them, until the day He comes again.
