Couples for Christ Foundation for Fanily and Life’s (CFC FFL) Country Servants [CoS] from around the world gathered in MMLDC (Antipolo City) for a 3-day meeting with the Servant General. The CoS came from all over the world, just to participate in the 30th anniversary of CFC FFL, and the meeting. There were CoS from Peru, USA, Canada, Malawi, Slovenia, Iceland, Austria, UAE, Qatar, China, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, India, Vietnam, Papua New Guinea and the Philippines; and more countries sent in their reports ahead of time.
Day 1 centered around the theme of “COME”, with our Servant General Frank Padilla leading the recollection on how the Apostles followed the Lord when He commanded them to “COME”. Fr. Arlo Yap, SVD, led the celebration of the Eucharist; the countries presented themselves; and Tony Correia of India presented a mind-blowing idea of “Gift-Based Service”.
Day 2 had the theme “FOLLOW ME” with discussions on the Charism of the Founder; Thailand’s Mission Volunteer program; Vietnam’s Lectio Divina; and, Myanmar’s Stewardship. Bishop Jesse Mercado of Paranaque celebrated the Eucharist, and together with Fr. Rico Ayo, reminded everyone about what it means to FOLLOW JESUS. The evening was capped with a fellowship, where participants sang and danced the night away.
Day 3 exhorted everyone to “BE SENT BY ME” with a recap of all three days by our Spiritual Director, Fr. Francis Gustilo, SDB. There were presentations and discussion on Media, Pro-Life, Evangelization; and sharings from different areas with unique situations.
All the more-than-80 participants were fed with food for the body, but more importantly food for the mind and soul – which will help the community follow the CHARISM set by our Founder. The SG told the CoSs of their task, focused on the virtues of zeal for the Kingdom, a life of integrity, and the posture of meekness – ZIM – as these will enable them to truly become the servants and instruments that God can use, for His glory.
The Country Servants meeting was capped by a fellowship evening hosted by Fr Francis Gustilo. The brethren now go back to their respective countries, full of gratitude and joy, and ready to move into our 31st year with the very strength of God.
