De La Salle University played host to the first ever Theology of the Body Conference in the Philippines. The Conference, organized by the Theology and Religious Education (TRED) Department of DLSU and Couples for Christ Foundation for Family and Life (CFC FFL), was a part of the week-long celebrations of both the Centennial Anniversary of DLSU, as well as the 30th Anniversary of CFC FFL.
The whole day conference started with morning plenary sessions at the Yuchengco Auditorium. Fr. Maxell Aranilla spoke on the Anthropology in the Theology of the Body; there was a panel discussion and open forum with panelists Fr. Maxell, Dr. Angie Aguirre, Fr. Dave Clay and Atty. Chito Liban speaking on issues from Same Sex Attraction to the Divorce and Reproductive Health Bills; and Fr. Joel Jason spoke on the Future of the Theology of the Body. More than 1,000 people packed in the auditorium in the morning to listen to the talks and open forum session.
In the afternoon, the venue moved to the seminar rooms in DLSU. There were 9 workshops held on the different aspects of the Theology of the Body. The workshop rooms hosted 200 people each, and there were lively presentations made by the facilitators. Workshops were as follows:
