I always believe in my heart that every experience has a purpose. If God wills for me to experience a certain one, then it must be truly and personally for me, with a special significance. In my journey as a Fulltime Missionary, God has made me experience His amazing grace through a lot of experiences. All of which made me realize their purposes, but more so, at the end of the day, made me a recipient of His amazing love.
If I could mark a moment in my life that would be one of the most significant, that would be the 2008 World Youth Day in Australia. The theme for that one was taken from Acts 1:8, “You will receive the power of the Holy Spirit, and you will be my witnesses to the ends of the Earth”. Two weeks after that WYD, I started my 2-year mission in Indochina, and later on, a 6-month mission to Argentina. Looking back at the WYD 2008, I realized that it was God’s “mountain top” experience for me. He touched me, talked to me, and prepared me for the years of foreign mission ahead. During that time, I also remember the pain I felt when a challenge was happening in our family. In one of the events at the WYD, God personally promised me that He will take care of everything. I can only now look back and really say, “God is faithful”.
To be given the chance to experience the World Youth Day again is really a dream. My heart believes that this new opportunity will really be a different one. I don’t know what He has in store for me there, but I know in my heart that it will once again be an experience that will prepare me for whatever He has for the next years of being a missionary. I believe this is also extra-special, as God has given me this opportunity to be one of the sub-leaders. What excites me about it is the fact that I know God will change lives there, not just mine, but all of us in the CFC FFL subgroups. For the past days of fixing the requirements of the applicants, nothing excites me more than God’s promise that He has something in store for everyone at a personal level. And I commit in being an instrument in any way I can, to be of help to the delegates of our community. Most especially for the SFLs who are going, it will be a great gift to witness right before my very eyes, how God will touch each of our lives there.
By God’s grace, I believe I will reach Brazil. He will meet me there, and I know that He will reveal Himself in a very special way.
