Livelihood Forum, A Success!

(Pat Oconer, WWP International Coordinator)

CFC FFL Work with the Poor conducted the very first livelihood forum, with the aim of developing entrepreneurial mindsets amongst beneficiaries for sustainable development. Attendees came from the different restoration villages all over Metro Manila and Luzon Provinces.

The former congresswoman of Las Pinas, and Managing Director of Vista Land, Cynthia Villar gave wonderful opening remarks encouraging everybody to never stop dreaming in making lives of people better, to continue to look for opportunities to provide a community program that is sustainable, with an environment that is encouraging and having people live productive lives.

Mr. Dong Cubillas of UP gave a lecture and workshop on entrepreneurship, and how to start a business, and to develop innovative ways of producing products that would share ones skill and expertise.

CFC FFL Work with the Poor is called to build communities starting from spiritual life, to family life, to community life. We are called to share the gift and abundance the Lord is continuously giving. We have the task and privilege to share what we have, especially to the least, at the same time, we are called to be stewards of the gift.

The livelihood forum gave us the push and urgency to not purely rely on donors, but to make use of those help/assistance (time, talent, treasure) to start something productive and sustainable.

We have a task, and a beautiful privilege! The task to share what we have, and the privilege to be of service to those who are of need. May all of us discover amongst us the gift of helping the least among us, and be that blessing, to bring sight to the blind, for the lame to walk, for the oppressed to go free (Luke 4:18).
