Statement of the CFC FFL Laguna Core Team

“Whatever your task, work heartily, as serving the Lord and not men,

knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your

reward; you are serving the Lord Christ”. Col 3:23

Brothers and Sisters,

Last night about 10 pm, while crossing the railroad track near the new city hall in Calamba, the car driven by Kristin and sister Bubut as passenger, an oncoming train smashed their vehicle dragging it to about 100 meters. Bubut and Kristin suffered fatal injuries causing their deaths while being attended by doctors at the Calamba Medical Center. The two were going to Lumban to prepare for the graduation rites in their humble school, St. Vincent De Paul.

Our hearts grieve and mourn for the untimely death of our beloved Sister Bubut De Guzman and her only daughter, Kristin.

We know that words will not be enough to sooth the deep pain and ease the anguish brother Alex, their children – Vincent and Nikko and their loved ones are now undergoing.

Every human life is precious, a gift from our Creator.

“For I have no pleasure in the death of any one, says the Lord God” so the Scripture tells us (Ezek 18:32).

We commend the souls of Bubut and Tintin to the merciful hand of our loving God as we who are still in the journey of the living will always remember her as a courageous woman who fought her debilitating illness with the constancy of faith in the mercy of our Lord. We draw inspiration to the personal sacrifices of Bubut together with Alex and their family to serve our community as dedicated servants in our Pro-life Ministry always ready with time and resources for the evangelization work in CFCFFL.

While Bubut and Tintin reached the finished line, we can rest in the assurance that our Lord welcomed them last night: Come, my faithful servants, the room I have prepared is ready for occupancy!

Blessed be God forever!

For the Laguna CFCFFL Core Team,

George Dee
