FROM THE SERVANT GENERAL
ON EVANGELIZATION AND MISSION
THAT THE GENTILES MIGHT HEAR
October 18, 2014
2 Timothy 4:9-17
The great apostle Paul was single-minded about mission. He persevered through many hardships, and expressed his one desire, “that through me the proclamation might be completed and all the Gentiles might hear it.” (2 Tm 4:17b). This is the same mission given to all Jesus’ disciples, to proclaim the good news to all the nations. This is the same mission given to us, to do massive worldwide evangelization.
But how indeed might the proclamation be completed? How indeed might “all the Gentiles hear it”? And especially the baptized pagans who are the lapsed Catholics? CFC-FFL already was doing massive evangelization work, but it was not massive enough. Now the Lord has given us LCSC, and the potential to reach all through the parishes is now there.
Indeed “the harvest is abundant but the laborers are few” (Lk 10:2a). How do we greatly multiply those laborers? It is as we engage the parishes and enlist parish workers. This can only happen through LCSC.
The Holy Spirit has shown us the path in this New Evangelization. So “go on your way” (Lk 10:3a).
